1 Aug 2006 Update

The Juice team has released a minor update to their podcast receiving software, in response to the Feedburner problem. If you've been using Juice to get the Journey Inside My Mind, upgrade to version 2.2.2. (Digg story with the details)

Lots of funk music, Juice and Feedburner don't like each other right now, and Thievery!

Did you know July is Baked Bean Month? I didn't either.

Songs Played

"Herbie" - Wazoo [PMN] (played in bkgd)
"Funkbus" - Hookslide [PMN]
"Hook In" - blue number nine [PMN]
"So Funky It Stinks" - furious ball [PMN] (played in bkgd)
"Take Time for the Tub" - Derek K. Miller [PMN] (played in bkgd)
"Flashback" - Natives of the New Dawn [PMN]
"Car Chase Theme" - Big Money Grip [PMN] (played in bkgd)
"Driving in the 70s" - Trap Door [PMN] (played in bkgd)
"Gut Bucket" - James Brown [PMN]

Some inadvertent errors in speech or things otherwise miscommunicated during this episode:

  • blue number nine (bn9) does not list Natives of the New Dawn(NoND) among their influences, although they might consider them. I just ran out of time as I started talking about NoND.
  • I did feel like punching the thieves but would opt not to if I found out (I hope)
Chalk this up to recording the show in the wee wee hours of the morning, when I could/should have been sleeping.

Thanks to Jon from the Tanfastic podcast (also from the Stars Hollow podcast)for the show opener and to the Official Mom for the closing comments!

Make it a great week, and send in your feedback!

JIMM 58 Problems with Feedburner and Juice - others?

Hey everyone! I've noticed that there seems to be a problem with obtaining JIMM 58 using Juice, a popular podcast receiving software, and my Feedburner feed, which people plug into Juice. I subscribe to my own show, so that I can see what other subscribers see.

I've heard that such a problem doesn't exist in iTunes, maybe other podcatchers, too. I also noticed that the Odeo page for Journey Inside My Mind has been updated with JIMM 58, too.

So I've included the link to the show one more time here and in the link for the title of this post. Maybe the problem will work itself out. Hopefully.

Just in case, I've included the show here via an Odeo player - isn't it cute? ;)

JIMM on PodShow Music Rewind!

PodShow Music Rewind #38 contains a 5-minute clip I submitted in which I played the song "The Longer Now" by The Reverse Engineers, out of Tampa, Florida. As I mentioned in my clip, the song was recently released onto the PMN and is from their album MaxQ. Also, they want to know where fans want them to come tour. Check out their website and let them know you heard their music!

Hey everyone, thanks for listening!

I've been really distracted this week. Maybe the work interruption with the holiday being on Tuesday; maybe from irritation from all the fireworks and subsequent trash. Maybe it's the ADHD or even a combination of it all. Gotta try not to take everything so seriously. :)

Nevertheless, we take time to spend 5 minutes with Keisha, letting her talk about whatever she wants to talk about. This time it's a long lost doll (check out the Noelle Rocks! video we did last December) and a teenage wizard with a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead.

Update: Further proof I've been so distracted... I completely forgot to play two promos I'd wanted to play:

Take a listen and please check out those shows. Ed, Manly Geek... please forgive the omission. :)

Update to the Update: it looks like Ed's promo got pushed through the feed for awhile there. Oops! I think I've got it fixed now.

Songs Played

"Teenage Bible" - Pushstart Wagon [PMN]
"Westerneast" - Scott Helm [PMN]
"Go" - Loveless [PMN]
"Latin Groove" - a.b.e. (anthems of a bygone era) [PMN]

If you'd like to record a show opener, feel free to send one in via the Listener Hotline (206-666-5466), via the Odeo system, or via sending an audio file to danimal0416 at gmail.

Promo Plays

Did you get the newsflash earlier in the week? The JIMM promo was also played on the Daily Source Code, episode 412. I later got an email stating that and on the JAK Radio podcast.

PROMO: Ed's Mixed Bag - be sure to listen for show #40 next week
PROMO: Buckeye Drive Time

Please play the JIMM promo and download it to play on your own show or to share with someone else. The promo contains an excerpt from a Josh Woodward song called "Adventures of a Deaf Dreamer".

Expecting promo plays soon from Dancing with Elephants and 101 Uses for Baby Wipes. Dennis from 101 Uses said he'd like to interview me about our adventures with a deaf dreamer. By the way, new listeners to the show wanting to catch up on this thread of conversation should check out JIMM 50 - Acoustically Emotional.

Other News

The potential for an interview led me to get a free Skype account - so there's yet another way to contact me. No voicemail there, so you if you want to leave a message you have to use the Odeo system or the Listener Hotline: (206) 666 5466 (JIMM).

In family news, my sister Mandy had her birthday. I posted an audio birthday greeting for her to hear at the Journey Inside My Mind blog page. I noticed a comment from the Official Superblessed Blogger over there - so thanks, Ganns, for checking in!

If you'd like to be and Official of the Journey Inside My Mind, it's very easy. Just contact me with the type of Official you want to be, and if there's no one else currently in that Office, presto! You are that Official.
